Well I bought one. Its a 2010 with 99k on it. It’s been out of police service since 2016. Formerly was a Florence, Ky PD Unit 2104. Its got 4400 idle hours.

It’s currently 100 miles shy of the big 100k. It’s sitting in my driveway, scaring all the neighbors. Its white. Its got a cylinder misfire but I took a mechanic friend whose well versed in CVPI’s and he said it’s fine.

I bought it for 1500 bucks with a bunch of misc parts. Full service records from police, to its first civy owner, to the guy I bought it from. Making me the 3rd (or 4th) owner depending on how you look at it.

My car has unknown rear gears. The guy I bought it from claims the previous to him owner swapped them. Since I don’t know any of that guys info(unless its in the paperwork I got) I can’t verify.

It’s got a Setina push bar, some center console from its police life. But I’ve got a bunch of receipts and paperwork from the guy I bought it off of showing all the fluids have been swapped out in the last 10-15k miles(oil on the 3k service interval). A 2 month old trans rebuild.

Planning on cleaning it up, addressing the misfire issue it has now. From there, who knows, but I am looking at ADTR.net for ideas. I really don’t plan on sinking a bunch of money into it. Have my fun, maybe keep it, maybe sell it. I’ve got a nice new pickup truck for towing and 2018 creature comforts.

2 pics from the for sale ad. It’s raining here and I didn’t get any before it started raining. That case in the passenger seat is a spark plug fix kit, not a gun case.

Sweet. Everyone will now go slower around you or get out of your way. For your new purchase, some tunes:

I own a car of the same model year. Get in touch with me on discord so I can help you get your ducks in a row. NKato#2316

As an aside, mine is a 3.27:1 limited slip differential. There are two primary gearing variations. 3.55 and 3.27. I'm getting a list of the identifiers right now

Update, here’s some info you can use to cross - reference your axle.

There are all kinds of gear ratios available for the 8.8. Your best bet is to ignore any axle tags and just jack the rear up so that you can count wheel revolutions vs driveshaft revolutions.

Not my type of music.

My car has some generic offbrand radio in it now, called a Dual.

Planned on adding something with bluetooth capabilities in the future. Along with replacing, what sounds like a couple blown speakers.

Door jamb claims X5 which would be a 327 locker. Which I know is wrong. I ll look at the axle tag today and see what it says.

I parked it down at my office mainly cuz I used my work truck to get it home. Didnt wanna drive a cylinder 3 misfire 65 miles.

Throw the back up on jack stands, turn the rear tires once , and count how many times the driveshaft goes around.

Also, car looks solid for $1500. I like service records on these, Ford considers an idle hour compera ble to 33 driving miles so it’s important they’re well looked after.

It is, once the misfire is fixed. I plan on seeing what it’ll run(in mexico). Its been taken care of from my paperwork. Im happy with its condition overall.

I might just put something on the windshield that says "Not A Cop" to help and avoid issues. Although im pretty friendly with my local PD. They'll probably laugh and tell me their stories of when they had Vics.

So what, for example if it turns 3 and a quarter times its 327s?

Exactly. 3 turns is probably 3.08s, 3 and a quarter turns, 3.23s or 3.27s, 3 and 3 quarter turns for 3.73s.

There’s one near me that has the vanity plate “NOTCOP”. There’s also another one that has all the lights and stuff on it still, but with the lenses changed to yellow and clear.

They’re cool cars, they feel really solid going down the road. Also, if you’re interested in adding cruise control, I seem to recall you can just  add a cruise control steering wheel and find a dealer who will flash the ECU and it’ll be all set.

I’ve found that Bluetooth is about the one modern convenience I need in a vehicle (other than maybe A/C). Stereos are cheap. Crown Vic’s are easy to work on. How does the drivers door hinge feel and close? Usually they’re beat up from kicking the door closed while seated.

Feels nice and strong.

From some searching, they claim all 06 and up vics have bullet resistant panels in the doors

You can tell when it does. It’s a heavy ass door.

Then mine does, its heavy. I even compared it to a civvie CV and noticed the weight.

I found out I have a 3.55 locker. The axle tag confirmed it, then spun the wheel and got just about 3 and a half turns on the driveshaft.
